TREND ALERT! TUESDAY
Today’s Trend Alert is — “Lace”

Let’s hear what our resident Fashion Experts have to say about today’s TREND ALERT!
It’s Friday here at Simply Modeste and today is all about HAIR! Today’s feature is all about one of my FAVORITE hairstyles of the 60’s — The Beehive!
It’s iconic in itself, but in my family it was THE go-to hairstyle for everyone — my grandmother, her sisters, even mini-beehives on my mom and aunt as young as they were. Looking through photographs my favorites were always of them all dolled up ready for church with their vintage suits and their beehive bouffants.
So when I saw modern takes on my favorite vintage hairstyle popping up everywhere I knew exactly what today’s LUXE LOCKS feature would be about. Here are my DO’s and DONT’s to make sure this modern take on a vintage classic turns out sleek and chic and not a costume flop.

Good Morning Loves!
It’s 2013, and some of us are still on a “Yay! The world didn’t end!” high. Like clockwork on New Years Day I made my yearly resolutions, which I’m sure many of you did as well, and like clockwork it’s midway through January and I’ve already broken most of them. The one thing I truly (even though I’ve failed so far) feel like I must do in 2013 is starting this blog back up. So with Dunkin’ Donuts coffee in hand, I give you the first (awesome but short) blog posting of 2013.
*I’ll pause here while you shout with excitement and cabbage patch dance.*
So many things are happening here at MC! Prepping for our Spring 2013 collection, buying fabrics, and preparing for the FLUPCI Ladies Conference! Lots of bright pastel colors, ruffles, glitter, lace, tulle, and rhinestones! It’s sparkly, girly perfection! Oh, I absolutely can’t wait to give you all a sneak peek!
Well now that I’ve really gotten excited about it, I’m off to sew and craft my little heart out! More awesome posts from me to come, so stay tuned!
XO,
K

I kept trying for the past week or so to figure out what to write and share with you this week. I happen to be driving down the road to work when a memory popped into my head…
There I was in the third store of the day with my mother, trying as I might, to find an outfit for a conference coming up. Being the picky fashionista I am, every slide of the hangers on the metal racks left another unsatisfied look on my face. Then as I turned a corner, my eyes happen to glance to my left. That’s when I saw it — the perfect skirt! I think that’s what Thomas Edison must have felt like when he finally discovered electricity — after countless agonizing tries I finally found what I had been searching for! It was a rose pink stretch satin with a black crochet lace overlay pencil skirt — absolutely beautiful.

“Modesty and Worship” is a wonderfully insightful blog posting on how modesty is connected to our worship of God by Bro. Steve Pixler. He has done a series of blog postings that delve into all aspects of modesty. This posting just happens to be one of my favorites, so I thought I would share with all of fellow Modeste ladies!

I thought this being the first posting on our Simply {Modeste} blog, a little introduction was in order. After all, many of you might not be aware of who we are, what we are, and why we are here.
When I set out to create {Modeste Clothing} I had a specific vision in mind. I wanted to create a company that not only sells modest clothing but that embodies modesty in every aspect. I firmly believe that being modest isn’t just about the clothes we wear, but modesty is a lifestyle choice. Modesty is something we believe in so fervently that we go against what fashion dictates we should be wearing, and we take that small but important stand when we chose to wear modest clothing.
I myself grew up Apostolic Pentecostal, and from the time I was little my mother has instilled in me the importance of being modest. Whether you dress modestly for religious beliefs or just your own personal lifestyle choice,
